  • Protect apps with a nonce-based Content Security Policy using csp() from remix/middleware/csp. Add it before render() and it generates a nonce for each request along with a matching policy. Generated import maps, module preloads, and css() styles receive the nonce automatically, and authored tags can read it with getCspNonce(context): (#12098)

Frames rendered on the server share the document's nonce, and client navigation keeps it across frame and island updates. HMR updates that add imports and remix/multiple-import-maps-polyfill also work under a strict policy, including one

Internal frame requests, including redirects, inherit the document nonce before child handlers run, even on routes without their own CSP middleware. Independent requests receive fresh nonces when they run csp().

  • Fix importShim() throwing Cannot destructure property 'l' under a Content Security Policy without 'unsafe-eval' when a module has both a static import and a dynamic import() (#12059)

Modules are now parsed with the asm.js build of es-module-lexer (es-module-lexer/minimal/js), the build ES Module Shims uses. The default build decodes import specifiers with eval, so a CSP without 'unsafe-eval' silently dropped every static import from the module graph. The asm.js build needs neither 'unsafe-eval' nor 'wasm-unsafe-eval'.
