What's New

Changelog

All notable changes to GitWatchman. We ship improvements regularly.

v2.8.0October 3, 2026

Daily Digest and Easier Start

addedDaily digest: get one email a day with all your new releases instead of one per release. New accounts start with it, and you can switch back to instant emails anytime from your profile
addedAn empty dashboard now suggests popular projects you can follow in one click
addedIf you haven't added a project yet, we'll send you a single friendly reminder the day after you sign up
improvedRelease notes on project pages are now easy to read, with proper tables, lists and links
fixedThe footer on the home page stays at the bottom on large screens
removedThe thin purple line at the top of some pages is gone

v2.7.1October 3, 2026

Smoother Dashboard and Steadier Notifications

improvedThe dashboard now loads in place: no more spinner, empty list or jumping footer while your repositories appear
improvedNotifications are more reliable: a busy GitHub API no longer marks your repositories as failing, and very large updates to Slack or Discord are trimmed instead of rejected
improvedRelease pages for popular projects show the latest version and the last ten releases, each with its own link
improvedThe beta now has room for 300 people
fixedThe "Test webhook" button for Slack and Discord works again

v2.7.0September 8, 2026

Redesigned Emails

improvedRelease emails have a new look that matches the app: each release shows the project's avatar, version badge and release notes, with a clear button to open it on GitHub
improvedEmails now read well on phones and in dark mode, and every message includes a plain-text version for clients that prefer it
improvedClearer subject lines, such as "New release: vercel/next.js v15.5.0", and a "Manage notifications" link in every release email
improvedTelegram notifications are now properly formatted: release notes are readable and collapsed by default, with buttons to open the release and the repository
improvedRelease emails are queued and retried, so a temporary delivery problem delays a notification instead of losing it
fixedContact form submissions from bots are now dropped silently, so spam no longer reaches the inbox

v2.6.0August 30, 2026

Telegram Notifications

addedTelegram integration: link your chat to @GitWatchmanBot with one click from your profile and get release notifications right in Telegram — /stop pauses them anytime
improvedA notification that fails halfway through can no longer send you the same release email twice when it retries
improvedRepository stars, forks and descriptions now refresh automatically once a day — they used to be frozen at the moment you added the repo
fixedNo more brief flash of the sign-in page when refreshing while logged in, and version badges no longer show a doubled v or a bogus release count

v2.5.2August 16, 2026

Sign In and RSS Feed Fixes

fixedThe Sign In button on the monitoring panel led to a missing page instead of the sign-in options
fixedYour RSS feed no longer breaks when a release tag contains special characters
